Legionaries from around the diocese gathered Saturday for our annual consecration to Mary, the Acies. Rev. James Panakal (Holy Rosary) led the opening prayers and Rosary. Holy Rosary's pastor Rev. Mark Hunt gave an allocutio based on the Magnificat. He shared his difficulty traveling to the original site of the Visitation in comparison to the everyday obstacles we face in growing closer to God.
Legionaries then advanced to the altar in pairs. Placing our right hands on a large vexilium, we repeated the individual consecration "I am all Thine, my Queen and my Mother, and all that I have is Thine." We followed this with a collective consecration and a resounding recitation of the Catena.
Spiritual Director Rev. John O'Neill followed the consecration with Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament. It was such a beautiful moment to be present with Our Lord alongside our Legion brothers and sisters!
Deacon Sam Francescon (St. Matthew) gave a few concluding remarks and Rev. Michael D'Souza (Assumption) led the closing prayer. After the ceremony, we were treated to a lovely reception at Holy Rosary School.
